I It has been decided (says the London correspondent of the "Birmingham Post") that Lord lutcnener shall have a further extension of his command in India, so that he will not return to this country until the close of next year. His name was mentioned in connection with the (.'overnorship of New South Wales, which becomes vacant next May, hut it is understood that he declined that oilice, preferring one of a purely, , uiiiitarv nature.
