J. B. JOEL'S TROUBLES.
BJLACKMAZLEHS CHARGED. (Eeceived 10 a.in.) LOXDOX, October 1. Charles Winborn and Arthur Canham, farriers, who were charged last week, before one of the City Courts, with threatening to murder Mr. J. B. Joel, of the ' firm of Bamato Bros., the well-known South African financiers., were to-day committed for trial. - At the itrst hearing of the charge letters were read in Court showing that the writers posed as members of the Camerista ilonenero. a secret society, and informed Mr. Joel's wife that a member of the society had been chosen by lot to assassinate Mr. Joel. On seeing an advertisement in the "Daily Chronicle* agreeing to pay money, another letter was sent to Mrs. Joel, stating that a man would call for the money et Mr. Joel's house. When Canham called he was ar-" rested. He confessed that Winborn wrote the letters, and promised him half the money if he assisted.
