Our Ch-ristehurch correspondent ; telegraphs that a hitch has occurred in connection wtih the least? of the pre- j mises at Opawa, known as the Oaks. The ' draft of the lease in Mr. McLean's will makes provision for two institutions—| one for refined g«ntkwomen ia indigent • circumstances, and the other for indigent women of good character. The owner oil "Oaks' , wishes to stipulate thac his pro- i perty shall only be used for the institution for the refined gentlewomen; and,: further, he declined to give the Beard a ' legal right-of-way to give access to the premises, although he is willing to give them an ordinary right-of-way, which j ■would, of course, be of no uss if he sold the land through which it went. He also declined to any cesaor of rent in the event of the premises being destroyed. The Board has, therefore, decided to ternnnate negotiations unless the owner signed a. lease approved Bowd'a solicitor-
