Mr. J. H. Turner, who was a lithographic printer on the staff of this paper for some time, but who for several months has been on the staff of the "N.Z. Times," Wellington, died on Sunday, death following upon an operation. Deceased was a prominent member of the Good Templar Order, and held many high positions in its ranks, including that of deputy of the Grand Chief Templar for the Grey Lynn Lodge. He was also a member of St. Matthew's choir. He was accorded a Good Templar funeral to-day by tie Wellington members. Bro. George Petherick, Grand Secretary, conducted the ceremony, assisted by various members. A wreath was placed on the coffin on behalf of his lodge in Auckland, and also on behalf of the Grand Marshal. Bro. George Clark, Auckland. A minor accident, in which a tram car bumped one of Messrs. Craig's carts, occurred near Mt. Eden this morning. No one was hurt, and very little, if any, damage was done.
