Appleton, managing director'of the firm, for refusing to an- | svrer questions under the anti-Trust Act j _- relation to the alleged coal vend, resuited in a fine of £5, with £5 5/- costs, bemn inflicted in each case. I lie evidence disclosed that the firm acted on the advice of their solicitors, Ttho claimed that there was no legal obligation to answer tbe questions, that tie let was ultra vires, and suggested that the case be made a test one. j lie latter suggestion was adopted, and the matter will now be taken to the High Court, both parties desiring a final and early settlement.
