Schwab and other magnates contributed to the Republican fund for the election of Mr. Hughes as Governor of New York. The Democratic candidate has written to President Roosevelt, denouncing his partisan use of the President's office in order to gain a party advantage, land advance the interests of personal friends and political proteges. Mr. Bryan declares that no word or act of his can justify Mr. Roosevelt's partisan accusations.
