* I ST. GEORGE'S ROWING CLUB. The annual meeting of St. George's Rowi ing Club was held In the boathouse. Judge's Bay, last night. There was a large I muster of members, and tbe report and balance-sheet, details of which have already appeared in our columns, were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. j J. H. B. Coates; vice-patron, the Hon. S. Tborne George, _____,_.; commodore, Mr. ' Thomas Russell; vice-commodores. Bussell) stated that the club's position financially was sound, j and members were to be congratulated on the splendid results achieved dating the last year. The following gentlemen wrote surrendering debentures: Messrs J. H. B. Coates. (patron), Dr. F. N. Gordon, E. W. G. Kachbone, and W. S. Whitley (vicecommodores). A hearty vote of thanks was passed to these gentlemen. The members are to he congratulated on unanimously passing a rule permitting of life members being elected, thus • showing their apprecia- | tion of the yeoman service done by the following gentlemen who have all been office i bearers, and several of whom are original members of the clnb since Its foundation iin 1883: Messrs J. Great interest was taken in the proceedings, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the chairman and the retiring officers. ■

NORTH SHORE BOWING CLUB.

The thirty-fifth annna! general meeting of the North Shore Bowing Club was held at | the club-house, King Edward Tarade, Devonport, last night. There was a fair attendance of honorary and active members. Mr. F. G. Ewington presided. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. i The annual report congratulated members 'on a record season. The club had been represented in eight regattas, and the prizemoney won amounted to £75. The senior j crew in winning their class race constituted a record, wbich they had maintained at the A.It.A. championship regatta, held at I Lake 1 _kapuna, thereby proving themselves jto De the champion senior crew of Auckland for the 1907-8 season. The club had now a j practically new and up-to-date plant ready I for "the • opening day of the ensuing season. ! Orders had been placed with Mr. G. Morton. ,of Wellington, for a racing convertible pair-oar boat, to arrive early in the season. The financial statement showed receipts , for the year amounting to £360 11/3, the principal Items being: Subscriptions. £110 ' 19/6; prize money, £75; subscriptions and : racing boat fund, £41 13/; sale of boat, i £34 19/; billiard table receipts, £35. The ■ expenditure totalled £333 2/5, leaving a '■ credit balance of £27 7/10.
