j ADMIRAL SWINBURNE'S SQUADRON. MAY VISIT AUSTRALIA. NO PUBLIC RECEPTION. i {J3t Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) ! I i Received 10.40 a.m.) ! : ALBANY, this day. j Admiral Sperry, before leaving Albany for Manila, unofficially announced that there was a probability that the American cruiser squadron now proceeding to Samoa, would visit Australia, but a 3 it was crossing the Pacific for training purposes, it would not expect a public re- i ception in Australia. | ' I i Admiral a-winburne's squadron consists ' iof six up-to-date cruisers of the first class and a flotilla of torpedo boats. At the invitation of the German Government, it recently left San Francisco for Apia to pay a courtesy visit to Ger- j many's mid-Pacific colony. It will probably join the Atlantic fleet at Manila after tbe visit to Japan. The squadron is probably now in Samoan waters, but owing to the lack of telegraphic communication it is impossible to say whether it has yet arrived. i .
