BLAND HOLT COMPANY. The final performance of ''The Bondman*' was given last night to a crowded house. This evening Mr. Bland Holt will present for the first time in New Zealand a play of a purely Australian type, entitled "The Great Rescue,'' ami as it will include a series of sensational situations and thrilling stage effects, it promises to worthily mamta.in Mr. Holt's wellearned reputation as a producer of highclass plays. The opening scene, "The Wombat Mine,"' is said to be exceptionally fine; the interior of a flooded mine, gloomy and forbidding, where a plucky diver rescues his mate from a terrible death, is startling and realistic. The race between a motor car and an express train is said to be another wonder of stagecraft. Love, laughter, and retribution follow presumably in delightful order. The drama is described as an exceptionally strong o:ne. and no doubt considerable interest will be centred in its production this evening. The management announce the last four nights of the season, Tuesday next being the farewell performance.

BURNS-SQUIRES BIOGRAPH.

A crowded house witnessed the pictorial representation of the BurnsSquires fight at the Opera House last evening. Throughout, the contest was observe*! with the keenest interest, and the exciting finish was watched with frequent outbursts of applause. The production will be repeated to-night and tomorrow, Saturday'- entertainment being the last of the Auckland season.

'LITTLE BREADWINNER" COMPANY.

A drama containing all the true elements which make for genuine success is said to lw t-tK I chief attribute of "The Little Breadwinner,"' a domestic drama in four acts, to be presented on Wednesday night next at H.M. Theatre by the Meynell and Gunn new dramatic company. The locale is England, and there within the quiet sanctuary of a (Quaker home are enacted the tragic and appealing elements which go to make the story. The atmosphere, if verging on the melodramatic at times, yet never crosses beyond the threshold of what is natural and reasonable. The name part is played by Miss Queenie Williams, who once led ti>e famous Tin Can Band, so popular of this management throughout Australia. Associated with her is little Maggie Dickinson, also a little star of like fame. The company is headed by the Australian actress, Mils Beatrice Holloway. In support there are many artists familiar in their past successes, including Messrs. G. P. Carey, C. R. Stanford, F. Ooope, E. G.
