WIN FOR THE LOUISIANA. A BIG STAKE. SYDNEY, August 24. Tremendous interest was taken by the Americans in the race rowed this afterInoon between champion crews from the j Illinois and Louisiana for a stake of 28,000 dollars (£5600), a very large sum in private wagexs changing hands between men of the other ships.
