(To the Editor.) ..■"",- sir,—There is an "old chestnut" to the effect that a 'Varsity student refused A to pull an undergraduate out of the barn because he had not been introduced to the fellow; I could hardly .believe my eyes when I read, in your .issue of this evening, that a body of firefighters had turned their backs on the ■devouring element because the flames eating up a house situated just - outside their own particular parish.—l •am, etc, H.J.
