AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.

The monthly meeting of the Auckland Presbytery was held last night, the Hm. W. Gray-Dixon (Moderator) presiding. . St. (Peter's.—The Rev. Millar announced that at n meeting of St. Peter's congregation on 'Friday it was unanimously agreed to offer a call to the Rev. .Robert Fergusson, of Invercargill, He submitted the call signed by 79 communicants" and 27 nbnoommunicants. Several members spoke :ln favour of the call, and the Moderator expressed his personal pleasure at the prospect of having Mr. Fcrgusson's presence in Auckland. The call was sustained by the I resbytery, and it was decided to Intimate the fact to the Southland Presbytery iiv telegraph. y" : Travelling Expenses—The following resolutljns by the -(Finance Committee were adopted after discussion: a) That congregations be assessed for the (Presbytery Fund on the basis of one per cent of the stipend paid. (2) That ministers and elders be invited to send in to the Presbytery treasurer at the ■December meeting of the Presbyter* in each year a return of their travellinS expenses in attending the meetings of'Prssfoytery; (b) that anything in excess of 10/ per trip shall be repaid from the PresbyJ tery Fund, if the revenue received will-ad-mit of this; if not, then a proportionate amount shall be repaid;-(c) ministers an 4 ciders, whose congregations fall" to nay their assessment to the Presbytery- Fund shall not be entitled' to claim refund of any portion of their travelUng~expehses7 "(3) approve the principle ■of providing'- hospitality for country members of. Presbytery and request city and suburban ministers to ■ask their congregations to send in names of those wiUug to provide hospitality' for ministers and elders from the country when attending meetings of .Presbytery; (b) con. tinne the committee with a view to carryinE out these ararngements.
