The claims laid before the Prime Minj istrr by the deputation desirous of securj ing better relations between the State and the Bank of New Zealand were as follows: (1) To increase the State's interest in the bank; (2) to provide that the State shareholders shall share equally with the private shareholders in the profits of the bank: (3; and to secure concessions in regard to the charges at present imposed on. those persons using the bank.
