STORMY WEATHER.
MANUKAU STEAMERS DELAYED. The turbulence of the Manukau bar has been the cause of delaying shipping during the last few days. The Rotoiti was unable to cross outwards on Wednesday afternoon, and did not get to sea till Thursday morning. The bar was too rough for the Rarawa to cross yesterday, and also this morning, so the vessel has been recalled' to port, and the trip abandoned. Thus the Rarawa will not sail again before Sunday. The Waitangi crossed inwards about 5 o'clock thijs morning, and the Takapuna a couple of hours later, but the Kini was unable to get in. The Takapuna's sailing lias been postponed from this afternoon till tomorrow morning. The passenger train to connect with the Takapuna will leave to - morrow at 8.30 a,ru. The' Claymore was to have sailed for Hokianga to-day, but will not make the attempt till 9 o'clock to-morrow morning. There were a number of passengers on the Rarawa desirous of attending the Wellington rac3S. No\doubt a number of Taranaki and perhaps other Southerners will be disappointed in there being no boat by which to reach Auckland for the British football match. There has not been a mail South by the West Coast route since Thursday morning. The mails were sent forward by the Fifeshire via the East Coast this afternoon. The Fifeshire is expected' to arrive in Wellington early on Sunday morning. j
