LONDON, July Iβ. At the Olympic games to-day, in the ; 1 400 metres swimming race, Benurepaire, of Victoria, easily won his heat. Tar- j takover, of Sydney, withdrew from the event. (Received 8.21 a.m.) OTTAWA, July 16. The Canadian House of Commons has voted 15,000 dollars for the expenses of Canadian athletes competing in the Olympic game?. BEAUBEPATEE AND KERB BEATEN. (Received 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, July 16. In the final of the 400 metres swimming championship H. Taylor (England) beat F. E. Beaurepaire (Victoria) by five yards, in 5 ruin. 3(5 4-5 sees. G. E. Lamer and R. Harrison (Britain) beat A. Ken- (New Zealand) in the 10 miles walk. Lamer won in 78 mm. 19 sees. Kerr's time being 78 mm. 40 sees.
