About five minutes past four yesterday I afternoon, the City Fire Brigade received J a call from Jervois-road, where the verandah of Mr. Blair's bootmaker's shop had caught - fire, caused" through . some" plumbing work. Hie brigade were promptly on the scene, and very little damage resulted. A four-weeks old infant named Doreen Sims died early this morning at its parents' residence, Macauley-street,: off Newton-road.
