BRITAIN v. TARANAKL ■ ■ i iSy Telegraph.—Own Corespondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH., this day. The British combination for the Taranaki match is not the strongest that has represented the visitors. "Ponty" Jones, Gibbes, and Jackett are all on the disabled list, but Vaisall reached New Plymouth by the mail train last night, and will play to-day. The Taranaki team has been training hard since Saturday under the tuition of A Humphries. The forward division has been remodelled, and only three men who did battle against Wanganui last week are appearing to-day. It is uncertain till the last moment whether Cameron, the Ne.\v Zealand threequarter, will pla}-, as he is suffering from a damaged shoulder. The weather is cold, and it has been raining off and on since Monday. The Recreation Ground is in fair condition, however, and the strong southerly wind blowing has dried it considerably. It is not expected that the wind will affect the play, as this ground is well sheltered. A close game is expected. The teams are: BRITAIN. Full-back: Dyke. ■ Threequarters: J. L. Williams, "Tuan" Jones, Vassall, Chapman. Halves: W. Morgan, W. J. Davey. Rover: ifeEvedy. Forwards: Harding, Dibble, Down, E. Morgan, Hind, Smitb, and Archer. TARANAKI. Full-back: A. Hardgrave. Tkreequarters: C. Sheehan, D. Cameron, E. Dive. Five-eighths: H. Mynott and J. Hunter. Half: J. Coleman. Wing-forward: T. Sheehan. Forwards: Whittrngton, Cave, Crowley, Tamu. Smith, J. OTSullivan,. H. Rothery.
