HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
— — a The fortnightly meeting of the Anckland Hospital—jind Charitable -Aid Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present:.Messrs (2i.. Knight (chairman, A. , Sturges, J. 3*.' Rutherford. E. Davis, P. M. Mackay, C. Gray, M. Coyle, H. Schoficld, A. Bruce, and L. J. Bagnall. Financial.—The receipts were shown to be £8344 for June, and the expenditure £4057, leaving a balance of £4286 to the credit of the Board. - ; The Ambulance.—The action of "the chairman in instructing the dispenser, to Wisinfect the Infectious diseases vehicle with formalin spray on each if Its visits to the hospital aud before it leaves the ground was approved. In the past this work had been done by the cab proprietors, but there had been no guarantee to the public that this bad been efficiently done. Hebrew Inmates.—a" request from tho Hebrew Society for permission to vlßlt their sick co-religionists was referred to the Hospital Committee. Grafton-road Sewer.—The. Town Clerk advised that the Board's contribution to tho Grafton-road sewer would be £150, being half of the estimated cost of a sewer to join that in Stanley-street Charitable Aid.—Thirty-six cases were considered during the fortnight, and eleven persons admitted to Costlcy Home. The Staff. —The Committee recommended that the hospital staff should be Increased by four probationers, which would brlng-tho total staff to seventy-sis.
