In regard to the recalling of Jackson, of the British team, there is every reason to believe that the alleged offence is in connection •with the infringement of itugoy professional laws, committed for some years, on the report of the club for which he then played. General sympathy is expressed with Jackson, and it is thought that the governing body 'would have been wise to have awaited until the close of the tour, when the charges could have been investigated in a proper manner. Jackson, who took affectionate farewell of his friends yesterday, states he has no knowledge whatever of the exact nature of the charges. Jackson may eventually settle' in Sydney. DUNEDIN, this day.
