This steamer "has. proved an excellent purchase,- and is a most useful addition to the company's fleet, louring the year new .wharves have been erected at the Islands' of Motu Korea and Pine Island, both of which are popular excursion resorts. : The cargo traffic is stilt being conducted in the same ante-deluvian manner as hitherto,; but there is every probability that the Harbour Board will undertake the constarnction of stages which will enable the company with a suitable cargo steamer to carry out the vehicular and goods traffic in an efficient and up-to-date manner. The Company's steamers, properties,: ;and plant are in good order and well maintained, and the service generally is •working smoothly a.nd satisfactorily. .lam pleased to state that the Company has maintained its record of-. freedom from accidents,- and when;; the/large number of passengers carried daily is taken into consideration, this immunity, from accident must be a' source of gratification to shareholders.
