THE RUSSELL GOLD FIND.
Our Russell correspondent writes regarding the gold fini reported in that neighbourhood, that they "are genuine and of encouraging value." The Northern "Luminary" has the following:—"Wβ were shown some Russell gold specimens the other day, and must say were surprised at their value. Had we a cart-load of stich, we should'be inclined to fancy this "Luminary" would soon change hands." Many specimens which proved highly payable quartz have in the course of a "lifetime been exhibited to us, but few, if any, come up to the Russell article. Some people are under the impression that were there rich gold reefs in or about Russell, they would have been discovered long ago. What airant stupidity. People might argue the came of any find."
