NEW YORK, June 12.

The Senate of New York State, by the casting vote of a dying senator, who was carried into the House, made gambling on racecourses in the State punishable by imprisonment.

On the last occasion that the bill was' before the Senate it was defeated on the casting vote of the Speaker, 25 voting for I lit and 25 against, there being only one senator absent.
