Representations are to-be made to Mr. Minister for Agriculture, to retain, the services of Mr. Lyons, Government Veterinary Surgeon, who intends leaving the service of the Department. Mr. Rutherford, who brought the matter up at the meeting of the Agricultural Association this afternoon, suggested that the Minister should be telegraphed to, stating that the Association considers I it would be a great lose to the district I if the services of Mr. Lyons were dis-l pensedwlth, as the members had always! found him a most efficient officer and! had connaence in him.
