At the conclusion of his lecture on Longfellow at the Leys Institute last night, Sir Robert Stout, in acknowledging the hearty vote of thanks accorded him, urged upon young people to read good literature. He said an amount of Eolid reading could be done in spare five minutes if people always had a book handy. While admitting that there were many novels which all should read, he urged young people to devote their spare time to other literary matter. The crossing-keeper, Robert Hanson, •who was seriously injured in the railway accident at Breakwater-road yesterday, is still in a very low condition. Besides a broken leg, Hanson sustained a fracture of the collar-bone. Many tourists will probably go to Quebec in July to the celebration of the 300 th anniversary of the founding of that city.
