TAKAPUNA TRAM AND FERRY COMPANY.
It is quite erident that the Takapuna Tramway and Ferry Company does not intend to lose much time in getting to ■ work. The Harbour Board agreed to j construct the wharf at O'Neill's Point upon certain conditions, and to these the Company promptly agreed. At the meeting of the Board this afternoon, two letters were received from the secretary to the Company. One stated that ts the Company is about to call lor tenders for rails, and also for the earthworks in connection with tne approach to the wharf at O'Neill's Point, they wished the Board to begin the erection of that structure as soon as possime. The second letter was an application for permission ito reclaim the land at O'Neill's Point in i connection with the approach to the wharf which is ot be erected there, and also for the use of the same for trams lines, sheds, workshops, or such other I: purpose as the Company may desire.
