MOUNT EDEN.
The installation of Mr Oliver Nicholson as Mayor of Mt Eden Borough took place last night, the ceremony being performed by the Town Clerk. Mr Nicholson 'has been returned to the Mayoral office for the three "years since the formation of the borough. He was congratulated by the Councillors, who commended his direction of the affairs of the municipality.
The Mayor, in acknowledging the eulogistic remarks of councillors, stated that during his ensuing term of office a longfelt district want would be filled by the establishment of the Mount Eden tramway service, which was to be opened shortly. ■
