LICENSES TO KILL GAME, under the provisions of "The Animals Protection Act, 1907," can now be obtained at the Chief Post Office, Auckland, and any country Office, which is also a Money Order Office, on payment of the license fee of £1. The Game Season for 1908 opens at 6 a.m. on May Ist, and extends until 7 p.m. on July 31. The Imported Game which cau be killed consists of Cock Pheasants and Calitoruian aud Australian Quail. Native Game open to be killed comprises Grey Duck, Teal, Black Swan, Pukeko, and Native Pigeon. The following areas are absolutely closed against the killing of all game:—(l) The whole of the County of Eden, (2) the district immediately surrounding Lake Takapuua, (3) the City Couucil Reserves at Waitakerei, Nihotupu. and Huia.
