A nasty mishap befell Constable EccltSj, of Devonport, as he was on his way home from the Avondale races yesterday afternoon. He was mounting his horse after leading it off the Victoria wharf, when the animal suddenly became restive, and rearing high, fell back on him heavily. He was conveyed home, and Dr. Guinness summoned, the medical verdict being that the constable had suffered a very severe shaking, although, so far as could he ascertained, no bones were broken.
Attention is directed to the 6ale by public auction of a house of 7 rooms, on section 50 x 100, St. Marys-road, Ponsonby, at the mart of Messrs. T. At present the company is awaiting the signature of documents in the hands of the Government.
