ROLLS CLOSING. TOMORROW. j . The election! of .mayors, for,-.the city and boroughs is to take" place on the 29th inst. The biennial. elections to the Councils takes place next year. j . i The last supplementary roll closes tomorrow, and electors' should ascertain that their, names are on the: rolL There are three qualifications:—-(a) A freehold qualification, requiring the ownership of land of at least £25 value; (b) a, rating qualification, which requires enrolment . in the valuation roll; and (c);a residential qualification, requiring occupation for at least 3 -months as tenant or sub-tenant of the whole or any portion of anybuilding at a rental equal to £10 per annum , for each occupier. In the case of husband and wife, any qualification possessed by either is held to be possessed by each. | Last year there were 16,010 electors on the city roll. This year's roll shows a net increase of over 3000. ' ft is probable that the present Mayor of Auckland (Mr. A. M. Myers) will be re-elected unopposed.- ..• \ :
