The Marine Department delivers to each lighthouse ten magazines each month, and every lighthouse gets from the Department thirty books a year. These books are circulated in rotation, and eventually find a resting-place in the libraries of the lighthouses. In addition, each keeper gets from the Department a weekly nawspaper. Scores of books are also sent by thoughtful individuals yearly by post to various lighthouses. No postage is charged on these books.
