Mr. Fowlds spoke highly of the '"School Journal," and said it was making excellent progress. He had found during the North Island tour that tha journal was very popular with teachers. The nest issue would contain illustrations. The full value of the journal would not be realised till the Board' 3 had examinations at the end of the year. If that were done, schools would be able to follow the plan of work adopted by the journal. Several leading professional musicians interview ilr. Mr. Fowlds said the points made on the petition would be considered before any steps would be taken.
