The net duties for the port of Wellington for the finanical year, which closed yesterday, reveal an increase oi £ < G.OS9 on the amount collected during the year 1907-S, and the total Customs receipts, which include miscellaneous receipts and shipping, port _nd light dues, have increased by £97,065. The increase m the beer duty was £2,001. The following are the figures for the year (those for 1907-S being shown in parenthesis) :—Net duties, £842.985 (£766,----895); beer duty, £14,659 (£12.657); total receipts, £554,192 (£757.123). The figures for the quarter just ended are:—Net duties, £226,934: beer duty, £3,959. The month's figures are:— Net duties, £74,510; beer duty, £1.290.
