CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

POLLING TO-MORROW.

The election to the vacant seat on the City Council through the resignation of Dr. Stopford, will be held to-morrow, there being six candidates for the position, Messrs. Geo. Gregory, Rupert Mantell, John Patterson, Geo. Edward Bead, Wm. Langley Rowland, and Samuel White. The following polling booths have been arranged for: —New Zealand Express Co.'s sample rooms, Court-lane; Choral Hall, Lower Symonds-street; Federal Hall, Wellesley-street West; St. James' Hall, Welli_gton-street; Foresters' Hall, Karangahape-road; St. Benedict's Hall, East-street; and Ponsonby Hail, Jervois-road. Keen interest is being taken in the election, and the polling la expected to be unusually heavy. The hours of polling are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
