The consumption of gas had increased both at Paeroa and Karangahake, the sales showing £150 in excess of last year. The retorts being in such a bad state made the cost of production considerably higher than anticipated, but as both beds of retorts have now been renewed, the coming year wi'l show a very different result The total receipts for the year amounted to £1428 6/3, whilst the expenditure amounted to £14_2 2/9. A new office and show room have been erected on the site secured last year in the township, and the company is feeling the benefit of this step. Mr J. A. Allan, the new manager, is giving close attention fb the business of the company, and the Board' have appointed Mr A. H. Atkinson as supervisor.
