' I (Received 5.50 a-m.) ' '■• BERLIN. March 30. Germany is placing orders this spring ' Sle construction of three la.ge battleships to take the place of the Oldenburg, ¥*c Siegfried, and the Beowulf, as well as a large armoured cruiser, two smaller erasers, and twelve ocean-goinar torpedoboats.
.The Oldenburg, the Siegfried and the Eeowulf are obsolete vessels a. present as coast defence ships. The firstis the oldest of the three, dating back 25 years. All are armed with 9-4 funs, bnt the Oldenburg's are of a very '•ancient" type.]
