A striking development in the attempts of the churches to reach the masses is being organised at.Whitefield's Central Mission, Tottenham Court-rd., London, where rehearsals ure in progress for two plays shortly to be produced. The performances ■will take place in the Toplady Hall, immediately unaer the church. Nothing definite has yet been arranged about the method of staging the plays, which will be dramatised versions of Dr. C. M. Sheldon's •weU-known works, "The Crucifixion of Philip Strong" and "In His Steps," by Mr. Francis Neilson. First Actor: "I thought your next tour was to have been through South Africa?" Second Actor: "It was, but the company struck. One of them had read that an octricb. egg often weighs iyo or three.pounds."
