Miss Woodroffe and Mrs Palethorpe met in the final, the best of three sets being played, and Mis.s Woodroffe again proved that sue is still the best lady player of the Auckland Club, by winning two straight sets, (i—3, 6—2. The trophy kindly presented by Mrs J. Ledinghain will tuereiore go to Miss Woodroffe. LADIES' HANDICAP DOUBLES. First Kound: Mrs Herz aud Mrs Paleihorpe beat Mrs Allen and Miss Williamson, Oy 11—a. Mrs Jowitt and Miss Woodroffe, Misses Aicken and Metcalfe, Misses Mace and Goldie, drew byes. Second Round: Mrs Herz and Mrs Palehorpe beai Misses Aicken and Metcalfe, 11—i; Misses Mace and Goldie beat Mrs Jowitt and Miss Woodroffe, 11—6 A very even contest should result between Mrs Herz and Mrs Palethorpe v. Miss Maca and Miss Goldie, for the final, the prize for this event being a trophy presented by Mr Alex. Grierson, a vice-president.
