An Auckland cricket enthusiast recently offered four bangles for competition among the ladies who provide and dispense afternoon tea at the district cricket competitions for selections of the best bowler, batsman, field, and wicketkeeper, in accordance with a list prepared by one competent judge. The selector's list was —Batsmau, L. G. Hemus; bowler, W. I. Stemson; fieldsman, E. V. Sale; wicketkeeper, W. Robinson. Twelve ladies have sent in correct selections. The list is shown in Mr. Howden's window, in Queen-street. Sixtyeight voting cards were received. The draw for the trophies will be made on Saturday, at 4 o'clock, in the Domain pavilion.
Mr. Justice Edwards has granted probate in the following estates of deceased persons: Edward Lake, Martin Henry Harrison, William Richard Lloyd, Henry Matthew Trace, Henry Corin, Stephen Frederick Moulden, George Paton, Henry Beauchamp Daniel. Letters of administration have been granted in the estates of Rose Hanlon, deceased, and Margaret Ruskell, deceased.
