POST OFFICE AND MOTOR CARS. (Received 9.55 a,m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The trial of motor care for clearing pillar boxes has proved so satisfactory that tie Postmaster-General has decided to use them in the capitals of all the States.
WORLD'S EGG-LAYING RECORD. (Received 9-55 a.m.) ADELAIDE, this day. Six of Mr. Pidman's White Leghorns entered the Queensland Government's egg-laying competition, and laid 1504 eggs, -with 10 days still to go. The previous world's record for the year was 1494:. HUMAN ANTHRAX. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. An outbreak of anthrax has occurred at Goulburn. Two men have ccmtractied the disease. \
