May Queen Extended.—ln the new intermediate level, 21 feet have been driven e:ist on the quartz corresponding with :!ia Rocky Point reef. Strong dabs and colour* of gold were carried for 20 feet, wheu a cross head was met with, which improved the quality of the quarts, some few pieces being classed as fair picked stone, and the manager expects further improvement as the drive is extended. The main portion of the reef is of a soft or broken nature, but makes gold whenever it is Intersected with mineral veins. The manager adds: "We have without doubt struck a good channel of gold-bearing country. Iv this part of the mine we may expect to obtain payable ore In any vein met with, and I am of opinion we shall meet with reefs and leaders hitherto unworked in driving east towards the Adelaide reef." The manager also states that the reef in the bottom of Hansen's winze is 18 to 20 inches in width, and very strong in favourable minerals. Victoria.—ln the winze below No. 2 level, the lead carries a good class of mineral, but no gold was seen last breaking down. In the drive east of the crosscut, the lead shows a few colours of gold. Temple Bar.—ln the drive going east the country continues good, and is of a favourable description. The rise is up G feet; the reef is about IS inches wide, and heavily charged with mineral.
