CELEBRATIONS IN THE DOMAIN, j The feast-day of Ireland's patron aint, St. Patrick, was celebrated to-day n the Domain Cricket Ground, a feature if the gathering, as is usual, being the chool treat of children from the various .oman Catholic parishes and the orphanges to the number of several thousand, .'here was also a large number of .dults present. Mass was celebrated in all the -hurdies this morning, and the children hen assembled at St. Patrick's Cathodal, where forces were marshalled, and , procession formed. The Garrison Band leaded the procession, and the Hiber- ' lians, in their regalia, followed. Next ! n order were the children of St. Pat- : ick's Cathedral Parish, the boys of St. ; oseph's Orphanage, Takapuna, in their teat uniforms, the St. Benedict's childen, the A.M.R. Band, children from the iacred Heart, girls from the Star f the Sea Orphanage, and the Parell and Newmarket children. Altogetier the procession included some 2,000 ieople, and the waving banners, and andsome regalias, made a hright and leasing spectacle. The marshals in harge of the procession were Messrs. dhn Patterson and Hubert Neherney. ?o the enlivening strains of the band, he concourse wended its way along Hob-on-street, Wellesley-street, Symondstreet, and Grafton-road. thus proceeding o the Domain, where the annual gathring is being held.
