RAGLAN.
S The Ruglan Co-operative Dairy Company, , Ltd., shut down for the season on the [ 7th inst., and the Te Mata Co-operative Dairy Company on the 14th, making very little over a six months' season, instead of nine months last year. Taken altogether, _ this has been the worst season experi- _ enced here for a very long time. Tbere will be an enormous amount of grass seed sown this autumn, and, given a fair season, j there ought to be abundance of feed next ,i spring aud summer. How to tide over till -' tbeu is the problem. " The annual picnic of the Raglan Dairy , Co. (refreshments provided and everybody ' made welcome) was held at Kauroa on the 13th inst. There was a large gathering from all the surrounding districts; the weather was all that could be desired, and a : thoroughly enjoyable day was spent and as the milking season had closed, there was not that hurrying away in the middle of the afternoon to get the cows, which usually mars the pleasures of such occasions. 1 —
