Judge Ker. who presided at the first trial of Herr Harden, editor of the news- j paper " Zunkurft," on a charge of j criminal libel, has been transferred from the Bench to another department of the Ministry for Justice. Judge Schmidt, president of the trial when Herr Harden. was acquitted on a charge of lese majeste a few years ago, was similarly removed. [It will" be remembered that on the i first trial, under private prosecution, tte Court, while holding that no actual crime had been proved against K.uno yon iloltla or the Eulenburg clique, practieJly justified Herr Harden, who was acqaitted. A second trial was ordered to give tlie Court circle an opportunity to dear themselves, and the ■ evidence on be- , half of the defence being weakened in Wai points, he was sentenced to four mouths' imerisomnent.]
