NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.'S REPORT. On Monday we held our usual monthly sale at the Papakura Yards. There was a good master, and prices were firmer throughout. Dairy cows sold at from £3 15/ to £7 10/; do., heifers, £3 5/ to £6 10/; empty cows, £2 5/ to £3 2/t>; grown steers, £4 17/6 to £0 10/; two to tnree-year-old da. £2 12/6 to £5 5/; one to two-year-old £2 2/6 to £4. Beef sold at Newmaxkec rates. Cattle.—-There was alarge yarding of stock of all descriptions at Newmarket on Tuesday. The beef pens were well filled, most of the cattle being of prime quality, although not extra heavy weights. Oxen sola to 23/ per 1001b., and cows 18/ to 21/ per 1001b. Steeis sold at from £6 17/6 to £12; cows, £3 15/ to £8 13/. Sheep were yarded in fall numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday, and sold at improved rates. Wethers realised from 17/e to £1 3/9; ewes, 15/6 to £1 0/3; lambs, 9/6 to 10/3; hoggets, 13/6 to 18/. Pigp were scarce, and sold well. Porkers realised £1 1/ to £1 19; baconers, £2 4/; to £2 19/; weaners, 5/6 to 8/. We submitted an extra large catalogue of hides, skins and tallow on Tuesday. Hides.—-Market lower for all classes.
