The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company held a. sale of bloodstock at the Harp of Erin stables on Saturday last H. H. O. Nolan officiated, as auctioneer The following lots were disposed of:— Gs. Mr. John Marshall's racing stables were also put up to auction. A six-roomed house and eight loose boxes, with. 21 acres of ground, in Gladstone-road, fell "to Mr X L. Cleland for £1075. A quarter-acre set> tion, with six roomed house and four loose boxes, fronting Morrin-road, was purchased by Mr. F. Macmanemin for £GlO. The following hoises were shipped South. by the Rarawa yesterday (Sunday): Downfall, Finery, Chanteuse, Bobrikoft, colt byMultiform—Soult Girl, Mahuta, Projectile Cyrene and Paritntn. A NEW ZEALAND HORSE WINS. The erst-Xew Zealand racehorse Melodeon distinguished himself in the A.J.C. Handicap (one mile and a quarter), run at IJaudwick on Boxing Day. The son of Medallion carried 9st. lib. to victory in the good time of 2m. SHsecs., beating a field of 10 in fine style. Melodeon started a warm favonrite.
