Manapouri arrived from Fiji at 9 sum. to-day, after having experienced strong southerly winds, with considerable sea, throughout the passage. The Mauaponri was to have sailed for Wellington at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The steamer Kazembe left Vancouver for New Zealand ports via Suva on the 24th December. The vessel, which is due at Auckland towards the end of January has 94 tons of general cargo and 215,000 ft of timber for this port, while she has 110 tons of general cargo and 690,000 ft of timber for Wellington. The steamer Sofala, from Calcutta, left Samarang on Christmns Eve for Auckland, and passed Goode Island on Jan. 2. She should therefore reach Auckland about Jan. 12 or 13.
