EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
The thirty-fifth week of the competition promoted by the North Island Egg-laying Competition Association, Ltd., at Cambridge, was concluded on Friday, 3rd January, 190 S. The following particulars are supplied by Mr A. B. Trythall, secretary and manager to the competition:-^ The number of eggs laid during the week was 1603, being an arerago of 20.15 per pen. total number of egss laid since Ist May is 60.654, being an average of 739.63 eggs per pen. The monthly prize of £1 1/ for most eggs laid during the month of December, was won by pen No. 50, A. and T. Association, Auckland, White Leghorns, with a total of 148 esjjs. Highest layings for the week: —Co-op. Egg, roultry Co. (per F. ilarrtner), Auckland, White Leghorns, 32; Miss Blackraore, Cambridge, Brown Leghorns, 31; T. B. Brookes, Clarendon, S.A., White Leghorns, 01; C. Hammond, Ruakura, White Kocks, 30; W. Knight, Hutt, Wellington, White Leghorns, 20; Mrs Itathbone, Cambridge, White Leghorns, 2S; Miss Roberts, Cambridge, White Leghorns, 28; A. and P. Association, Auckland, White Leghorns, 28; Mrs J. Salt, New Plymouth. White Loghorns, 28; Mrs Hooker, Cambridge, White Leghorns, 2S. Leading pens to date are:—X. W. K.
