AUCKLAND LAWN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

- THE FINALS. The finals of six eveiis were played off at the championship mating of thy Auckland Lawn Tennis Association last Saturday,-and the remaining five will be completed next Saturday. The additional results are as follows:— MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. THE FINAL. Upton beat Grossman, 7 —5, 6—o, 6—o. Upton won with great ease, playing with vigour and accuracy throughout. Grossman was feeling the effects of his previous match with Mowbraj*, and was not in a condition to- come up to the net and play his usual game, but in any ease Upton's cross-court drives effectually prevented him from getting into position. Upton displayed good judgment in placing and dropping balls short, and generally showed sound knowledge of the game. Having beaten Keith and Grossman in one day, his claim to the championship is undisputed, and on his form in this tournament he is likely to retain it for some time to come.
