Lady Plunket, wife of the Governor, and the Hon. Kathleen Plunket, reached Auckland by the Rarawa from New Plymouth to-day. Captain Gathorne Hardy, A.D.C. to his Excellency, also arrived by the same steamer. A social will be tendered to Air. C. H. Poole, M.H.E., to-morrow night in the Ponsonby Hall, in connection with the "West Branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation. The ladies of the Auckland Society of Arts -will dispense afternoon tea at" the (Exhibition to-morrow (Wednesday) afternoon. ' •
