AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB'S SPRING MEETING. •'■;. - The opening Say's racing in connection with the Auckland Trotting Club's spring meeting is proceeding at Epsom this afternoon. Sister Anne beat Red Bain over a mile, and Guidwife was better than Gold Beater, over six furlongs. Bonny Glen ; did" a mile and a-half in "2.37 3-5, finishing very well. Fireiton ran six furlongs, the last, five in 1-3 4-5. Zimmerman and Sir Tristram covered a mile in I.4s—the Cup horse's performance was not impressive. Elevation and Lapland were sent a slow mile' and a-half, Lap land finishing in front. Elevation was not going so strong as he should. Biiccleuch's task was a mile and a-quarter, run in 2.11 2-5; he was tiring perceptibly at the finish. Gazeley, Koran, Maniapoto, and Armistice covered a mile and a-qnarter in 2.14 4-5, Gazeley just beating Armistice, whose performance was the best. Cross Battery spurted four furlongs easily, in 50 3-ss. Master Delaval, Mahuta, Grand Slam, Paritutu, and Probable ran a. mile and alialf in 2.38 3-5. Master Delaval, Paritntu, and Mahnta finished together. Mahuta's gallop was the best, as he was carrying < scmething over Cup weight. Paritutu was disappointing, bnt Master Delaval was pleasing. Hartello easily defeated Swimming Belt over six furlongs in LIT 1-5. St Joe beat Astrakhan over a mile in 1.44 1-5. Apa and Frisco ran a mile in 1.43 3-5; Apa was in front Aboriginie's tasfc was a half mile in 50s, and was the best gallop among the two-year-olds. O.ther good gallops were registered by Whistlecraft, FleetEoot, and Disciple. (By Telegraph.—Own , Correspondent) CHEISTCHtTKCH, this day. :At Kiccarton, this (Saturday) morning, Manuta had*, a little the best of Master Delaval at the end of a mile and a-qnarter gallop, which occupied 2m. 11 3-ss. Mahuta finished much better than in any of his former essays,. while Master Delaval had to be ridden a furlong from home to keep up with him. Parltutn, which had all the best of the weights, and Probable took part in the gallop, but were beaten off at the finish. Lapland created a surprise by defeating E'evation badly at the end of a mile and a-half, run in 2m 43*s. Elevation did not seem in a galloping humour, and was not persevered with. Gazeley showed to considerable advantage over Kewan, Maniapoto, anfl Armistice in a 10-furlons; gallop, which took 2m 12s. Armistice lost a lot of ground in the first few furlongs, bnt was going in great style at the finish. Maniapoto straggled on to the finish, but can have no chance in the Cup. Buccleuch was going strongly at the end of a mile and a-qnarter galop, which he compassed in 211 3-ss.
